Hermeneutics
This course invites you to navigate the world in front of the text, in the text, and behind the text. In this course, we will consider the lenses we all bring to the Bible upon reading and trying to understand. We will then look at how some of those may be helpful and some less helpful, as we consider the world inside the text and the way the Bible teaches how it should be interpreted and best understood. Finally, we will look at the world behind the text, by looking at the ancient cultural settings, new testament use of the Old Testament, and so much more.
Walking Through The Book Of Revelation
Based on my 2018 commentary - Until Christ Comes Again: Outlines In The Book Of Revelation, we will walk through the entire book, looking at: *Structure/Genre/Dating/Authorship. *Theme/Presuppositions/Interpretive Methods. *Strengths and weaknesses of various interpretive methodologies. *History of inteterpetation. *A walk through the entire book with explanatory notes and discussion.
