Dr. Riley Kirk is a cannabis research scientist, educator, and science communicator with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences specializing in natural product chemistry and pharmacognosy. She is the co-founder of the Network of Applied Pharmacognosy, host of the Bioactive Podcast, and author of Reefer Wellness: Understanding Cannabis as Medicine. She also teaches cannabis science at Vermont State University.
Riley’s work focuses on making complex cannabis science approachable and useful, with particular expertise in cannabinoids, terpenes, the endocannabinoid system, pharmacology, and real-world cannabis use. Her goal is to help people cut through misinformation and better understand cannabis through the lens of chemistry and current scientific evidence.
